Teen fundraisers walk 23 miles for Alder Hey!
Teen fundraisers Seb Murphy and Lucie McShane recently set themselves the challenge of walking the Sefton Coastal Path from Southport to Liverpool, in order to raise vital funds to support Alder Hey Children’s Charity’s MediCinema Appeal.
"Both Seb, Lucie, and their siblings have all had care in one way or another and they are both aware of how lucky we are to have such a wonderful hospital on our doorstep, and so supporting this exciting appeal seemed an obvious choice."
Lyndsey, Seb's mum
The fundraising duo visited Alder Hey earlier this week to have their photo taken with our fundraising cheque, having raised an incredible £2,487.00 (241% of their target) in less than a month of fundraising. The success of their fundraiser took the team off guard, as Lyndsey explained to us during the visit:
"When we reached the Pier Head I think the total was up to around £1,800 but the donations kept coming that evening and the following day which felt really good and definitely helped to ease the pain from the sore feet!"

Everyone at Alder Hey Children’s Charity would like to send a huge thank you to Seb, Lucie, and their families for thinking of us and taking on this extraordinary challenge. The kindness and generosity shown by all involved will make such a difference to the brave patients and families at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
