Retail Manager Amy takes home the trophy at Charity Retail Awards!

Congratulations to our charity Retail Manager Amy Atherton who was awarded the Retail Employee of the Year award at last week’s Charity Retail Association Awards.
Amy has been an integral part of the retail team since the opening of the Old Swan store in 2019, and since then has overseen the continued success of that store, as well as the expansion and opening of the Huyton store in 2022, after which she was promoted from Store Manager to Retail Manager.
To secure this award Amy was nominated and won against 26,000 charity retail employees from 11,200 charity shops across the country, which is a testament to Amy’s commitment, passion, and enthusiasm for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and the retail team.
Everyone who works, volunteers at, or visits our charity shops will know the impact that Amy has on the day-to-day success of the stores, which have both become vital hubs in the local communities.
Cath Harding, Head of Community Fundraising at Alder Hey Children’s Charity said: “We’re delighted that Amy has won Retail Employee of the Year in recognition of the hard work she puts into both of our retail shops in Old Swan and Huyton. Amy embodies our Charity values of Together, Passion, Courage and Magic and thoroughly deserves the award. Well done Amy!”
During her time at the charity Amy has abseiled down Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and is currently preparing to trek through the Himalayas this October on our Nepal Himalayas Trek. These commitments show just how Amy regularly goes above and beyond in her commitment to our charity and prove just how well deserved this award is.
Congratulations Amy, from all your colleagues at Alder Hey Children’s Charity!
