Staff Spotlight – Meet Lily!

Staff Spotlight: Meet Lily, Community Fundraising Assistant.
Thursday is upon us once again, and that means that it is time for another edition of Staff Spotlight! Our look into our charity’s amazing Community Fundraising team continues this week, as we caught up with Community Fundraising Assistant Lily to ask her some pressing questions…
What’s the best thing about working for Alder Hey Charity?
Every day is different but always rewarding. There is no place quite like Alder Hey, and being able to work so closely with our incredible fundraisers is always such a joy!
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
My hot water bottle. In the summer it becomes a cold-water bottle so that I get a full year’s use out of it!
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know?
I lived in Norway for a year.
What’s the strangest way you have seen somebody fundraise for Alder Hey?
Although not necessarily ‘strange’ in the way you would think, I have to say the most unusual is definitely a fundraiser who I met recently having just completed an Ultra Marathon in Kenya. The sheer physical and mental strength it must have took really inspired me, not least because he also recounted coming up against a charging buffalo and sleeping in a tent with lions roaring in the distance!
What’s your favourite fundraising event?
The Coniston Challenge is always so much fun and one I look forward to every year! It is a wonderful opportunity for groups to get together and have a great weekend whilst raising vital funds for our charity in the process!
