Staff Spotlight – Meet Adam!
Staff Spotlight: Meet Adam!
This week on Staff Spotlight we have been speaking to Adam, Running and Challenge Manager here at Alder Hey Charity, as our look into our charity’s Community Fundraising team continues. We caught up with Adam to ask him some pressing questions… here’s what he had to say:
What’s the best thing about working at Alder Hey Charity?
The best thing about working at the charity is the amount of people I get to meet. I’ve met so many people since joining the team in 2018 and consider myself very lucky with the new friends I’ve made in that time.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
It has to be anything fitness related. Going the gym, walking, climbing, cycling, EVERYTHING! I’m obsessed with it. If I didn’t have it I actually don’t know what I would do.
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know.
My first ever tattoo was in honour of my little mate Joey the Legend, a patient at Alder Hey.
What’s the strangest way you have seen somebody fundraise for Alder Hey?
Wow! I could go on forever. Strange seems harsh but some of the most random that spring to mind are a sheep shearing event, a Jumpathon at a trampoline park dressed as Teletubbies, running the London Marathon dressed as Oli the Elephant… as I said I could go on forever!
What has been your favourite fundraising challenge so far?
My favourite has to be cycling London to Paris in 2022. It was such an incredible experience cycling for 4 days with so many inspirational people. I started crying my eyes out when I reached the Eiffel Tower, I got so emotional and couldn’t hold back the tears. Roll on 2024 when we will be cycling from London to Amsterdam!
