Matt completes solo cycle for Alder Hey!
August’s Fundraiser of the Month is Matt Thomson, who raised £870 after cycling from Leyland to Alder Hey, a 50-mile journey which he completed solo to raise vital funds to support children and young people at Alder Hey.
Matt said he was inspired to fundraise to thank Alder Hey as he recalled receiving care as a child, and so Matt wanted to the support the hospital that he says, “transforms children’s lives every day”. Matt went onto explain: “As a child I had a number of health issues, and so I have always been grateful for hospitals like Alder Hey. However, after the incident in Southport, Alder Hey were truly heroic in the way they responded and provided the children there with such incredible care and love.”
Matt decided to take on the cycling challenge as a way to give back and completed the challenge solo after his support team dropped out last minute, such was his determination to make a difference.
We would like to send a massive thank you to Matt for thinking of us and choosing to support Alder Hey. If it wasn’t for the support and generosity of people like Matt, then we wouldn’t be able to make the difference we do at Alder Hey. Thank you so much for your incredible support!
