We may be getting closer to the end of the year but that doesn’t mean our wonderful supporters are slowing down when it comes to doing incredible things to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity!

November’s Fundraiser of the Month is Pat Livesley from Southport who raised an incredible £1395 for our charity when she took part in a sponsored head shave, with more sponsorship still to come in! Pat told us that she was inspired to fundraise for Alder Hey as ‘the charity appeal is close to my heart as it supports children and families through difficult times.’

When asked about why she chose to take part in a head shave, Pat said: “I’m not able to climb mountains or run a marathon, but I can have my head shaved. So, I thought about it and that was it. I’ve had hair for 81 years, so it’s been very strange without it, but I’m lucky that my hair grows back quite quickly. It’s been well worth it, and it’s helped to take my mind off other things.”

Pat was also keen to emphasise how overwhelmed she has been by the generosity of people who have supported her sponsored head shave and would like to thank everyone who contributed towards this incredible gift, with support coming from good friends and family to the general public. Pat said that “[…] as a community, we can make a difference by coming together […]”, and the support she has received towards her fundraiser has proven just that!
