Snowdon by Night returns stunning views and fundraising
Last Sunday, 152 incredible Alder Hey fundraisers took part in our annual Snowdon by Night challenge, trekking the full 1085m of elevation to the summit of Wales’ highest mountain, all before sunrise!
This is the third time that we have held this twilight challenge, and in a prime example of ‘third time’s the charm’, our fundraiser’s hard work was rewarded with a truly stunning sunrise, the first we have had in three years of the challenge! The reward was definitely worth the wait, with supporters and even mountain leaders remarking that it was the best sunrise they have ever seen on Yr Wyddfa.
Thanks to their incredible efforts, our fundraisers have raised over £48,000 for Alder Hey Children’s Charity. These vital funds will make such a difference to children and young people at Alder Hey, supporting ground-breaking research, investing in innovative equipment, improving our campus and community, as well as providing magical experiences for our brave young patients and their families.
Everyone at Alder Hey Children’s Charity would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part, as well as the incredible organisers and mountain leaders who kept everybody safe and motivated during the chilly evening. We couldn’t do what we do without the incredible support of our fundraisers, and your hard work and generosity will have such an impact on children and young people at Alder Hey.
