Aimia Foods show miles of support for Alder Hey
30 members of Aimia Foods, one of our dedicated corporate partners, have completed a 22km walking challenge, to raise funds for Alder Hey.
Taking place on the 12th of July, the walking challenge set off from Aimia Foods’ offices in Haydock. 22km later, the team reached their final destination – Alder Hey.
The walking challenge made up the final part of Aimia’s ‘Big Four’ fundraising series for Alder Hey, which kicked off in September 2023 with a hike up Snowdon. The second event saw the Aimia team complete a Cyclathon challenge at their head office. The third event was the annual Alder Hey Oli’s Safari Walk, which took place in May.
Michelle Younger, Marketing Director at Aimia Foods – and challenge participant – expressed her passion for the challenge and for Alder Hey:
“We are determined to raise as much money as possible for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in the final part of our ‘Big Four’ challenge. Over the course of the year, our teams have committed to climbing mountains, team cyclathon, safari park walk and have now completed the journey from our office doors to the doors of Alder Hey Hospital itself.”
In 2023 we entered a partnership with Aimia Foods with the aim to raise money to help our brave young patients, their families, and the wonderful staff at the hospital Alder Hey.
As well as funding equipment, innovation and research, our charity is devoted to going above and beyond to make hospital life brighter for children at Alder Hey, supporting their families, and its dedicated NHS employees.
The money raised so far by Aimia Foods has been used to refurbish family rooms in the critical care unit so that parents and families can take a much-needed break, even if just for a moment, in a cosy and comforting environment.
Aimia’s next target is to raise money to create a calming and peaceful environment for the young children of Alder Hey by funding the purchase of a Sensory voyager – a specialist machine that makes it easy to transform a patient’s bedroom in a sensory zone. The machine has a number of sensory aids meaning that each child can choose which lights and projections they would like, customising the experience for each child.
Michelle added:
“Any donation made towards this event is hugely appreciated, so please, do check out our fundraising page. Our team, and Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Hospital, are hugely appreciative of any support, no matter the amount.”
