October’s Fundraisers of the Month were the incredible team at Ginger Hospitality, who raised £570 to support our MediCinema Appeal!

The team held a bake sale at the beginning of the month and built up to their Alder Hey PJ Day at the end of the month. Throughout the month they shared some creative and humorous videos of them recreating some of their favourite classic movie scenes, in recognition of the cinema fundraising.

On being awarded October’s Fundraisers of the Month, the Ginger Hospitality team said: “We are privileged to be chosen for Fundraiser of the Month for October. From recreating movie scenes to getting cosy during our PJ Day, we have had a lot of fun all whilst raising money for this amazing cause.”

Phie Marston, Design and Creative Executive at Ginger Hospitality, said: “As a Child I spent a lot of time in Alder Hey, I can’t thank all the Nurses and Doctors enough for the care I received but also their love and support that made the Hospital stays happy times rather than scary. Alder Hey will always be a cause close to my heart. I am very proud to be part of the Fundraisers of the Month.”

Krystina Aitken, Head of Finance, Legal and HR at Ginger Hospitality, said: “I have every reason to be grateful to the team at Alder Hey, who performed lifesaving cardiac surgery on our little girl when she was born with a congenital heart defect in 2019. We were one of the lucky ones who took our daughter home after only 4 weeks, however we met many other children and their families who’d been inpatient for much longer and still had a long journey ahead of them. The new MediCinema will make such a difference to families such as these, which is why we wanted to support the appeal.”

Thank you so much to the team at Ginger Hospitality for their incredible fundraising effort this October. he company is also adding a further £100 donation and have been collecting travel size toiletries to donate as part of patient emergency packs – how thoughtful! You have all made such a difference at Alder Hey and are well deserving of your Fundraiser of the Month title!
