Every Second Counts appeal reaches £952,000 target

Together, we have achieved something extraordinary. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, partners, supporters, and donors, Alder Hey Children’s Charity is delighted to share that our Every Second Counts appeal has reached its fundraising target of £952,000. This means we can now introduce a world-leading spectral CT scanner to Alder Hey, transforming diagnosis and treatment for thousands of children and young people every year.
Reaching this goal is a testament to the kindness and commitment shown by everyone who backed the appeal. From individual donors and families to schools, businesses, community groups, fundraisers, and charitable trusts, this has been a truly collective achievement. Every contribution and every fundraiser have played their part in helping us reach this moment.
This new spectral CT scanner will give doctors and clinical teams at Alder Hey clearer and more detailed images than ever before. This means faster diagnoses when time is critical, safer and more accurate imaging, and more precise treatment planning that can reduce the need for additional tests or invasive procedures. For families facing uncertainty, this can mean getting answers in hours instead of days, and knowing their child is receiving the most advanced care possible.
The impact of this technology will be felt across many areas of the hospital. It will help with heart conditions, cancer, neurological conditions, major trauma injuries, and many other complex needs. It will support thousands of families each year during some of the most difficult and emotional moments of their lives. By reaching this target together, you have helped us ensure children receive the care they need with greater comfort, confidence, and speed.
The installation and setup of the new spectral CT scanner will take place in the new year, and we look forward to sharing updates as it arrives and begins to make a difference here at Alder Hey. We will celebrate this milestone with our supporters once the scanner is in place and ready to support our patients, and we are excited to share the real stories of the lives you will help change.
Your support has made this possible. Whether you donated, fundraised, shared our story, or championed the appeal in your own way, you have created a real, lasting impact. You have given hope, comfort, and brighter futures to children and families who need it most. Thank you for being part of something remarkable.
