Arts for Health Week: Celebrating 20 Years of Creativity at Alder Hey Children’s Charity
This week, we’re celebrating 20 years of Arts for Health at Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
For the past two decades, the Arts for Health programme has been transforming the hospital experience for more than 10000 children and young people every year. Through carefully designed creative activities, the programme supports recovery, boosts wellbeing, and creates moments of joy and connection for children and their families during their time in hospital.

To mark this milestone, we’re hosting a week-long take over, showcasing the programme of creative activities across the hospital, celebrating the positive impact the arts have on patients, families and colleagues every day. Throughout the week, patients, families, and staff can enjoy performances from musicians from the Liverpool Philharmonic, alongside other live performances, visual arts and interactive creative experiences. Together, these activities help brighten hospital spaces, inspire creativity, and create meaningful moments for everyone who visits.

We’re also introducing you to the people behind the programme through daily features on our social media channels, where you’ll be able to meet the artists helping to make a difference. Follow us on Instagram throughout the week for behind-the-scenes moments, creative workshops, performances, and highlights from the celebrations.
The Arts for Health programme can only be made possible thanks to the generous support of donors to Alder Hey Children’s Charity, our valued partners and the talented artists who bring creativity into our hospital every day. Their generosity helps us to continue to provide experiences that better the hospital environment and support the health and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.
As we celebrate 20 years of Arts for Health, we’re proud to recognise the lasting difference creativity has made to thousands of young lives and we look forward to sharing the week’s highlights with you.
