Bag Ladies Handbag Auction raises record amount for Alder Hey!

Bringing together women in business from across the region, the annual Bag Ladies Afternoon Tea and designer handbag auction is an event not to miss!
Created by Sarah Robinson (Ludlow Wealth Management and Alder Hey trustee), and Sadie Sharples (Shawbrook Bank) the event has grown year on year, and in 2024 raised a phenomenal £20,000 for the charity.
With Liverpool’s Oh Me Oh My providing the backdrop, guests enjoy bubbles on arrival before the delicious afternoon tea.
Fundraising runs throughout the day, including our famous flower raffle, where guests get a chance to take home the beautiful floral centrepiece from their table arranged by Dorothy Jessen.

Each year the event has supported a different cause within the hospital, and in 2024 our ladies heard from Lisa Cooper, director of Community and Mental Health at Alder Hey. Lisa is passionate about her role, and spoke openly about a special project supporting some of our most vulnerable patients who have experienced trauma.
The afternoon’s main event is a live auction of donated designer handbags, a combination of pre-loved and brand new. In 2024, designers included Fendi, Balenciaga, Prada and so many more and we look forward to collating further donations ahead of our next event. Guests should also keep an eye out for some celebrity donations too…
Alder Hey event organiser Becky says: ‘This is a wonderful event, which really stands out as something unique in the calendar. We are really excited to welcome Kevin Duffy from RSM back in 2025 to host the day for us, he was a huge hit in 2024. Thank you to everyone who makes this event possible as we continue to raise much needed funds for the children and young people cared for at Alder Hey’.
