Chloe set to take on the Liverpool Half Marathon for Alder Hey!

Alongside our friends at BTR Liverpool, we are celebrating the inspirational achievements of supporters who are taking on local running challenges in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
One such supporter is Chloe Maher, who is taking part in the Liverpool Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March. Chloe is hoping to make a difference at Alder Hey, a place which holds a very special place in her heart. Speaking ahead of the event, Chloe told us:
“My connection to Alder Hey is that I worked as a nurse on the oncology ward 3B for two years before moving to Manchester. I loved my time at Alder Hey and I am so passionate about the job I did at the hospital. I still come back whenever I can – I am so grateful to see old faces including patients and their families!
I am running the half marathon alongside my best friend and we are hoping to raise £1000 between us! It is the second half marathon for both of us, having also completed the Manchester Half Marathon last October.
I am so excited to be running in the half marathon for Alder Hey! Liverpool is my home and the event will be extra special with it being on St Patrick’s Day as the city always makes such an effort for it. I imagine we will see lots of fancy dress and green running outfits!”
Good luck to Chloe and all the other supporters taking on the Liverpool Half Marathon for Alder Hey. With three weeks to go, this event has recently sold out and is set to be the most popular staging of the event in its thirty-year history, with 9000 runners due to take to the streets of Liverpool. Make sure to support the runners who are making a difference to patients and families at our hospital and take a look at the events page on our website if you are interested in taking part in a running challenge yourself.
