The Mountain Series
Do you think you can beat Ben Nevis, soar up Snowdon, scale Scafell and make your way up Whernside?
The Alder Hey Children’s Charity Mountain Series is made up of three of our most challenging hiking events – The Yorkshire Three Peaks, Snowdon by Night, and The National Three Peaks.
Anyone who completes all three of these challenges, including ones already completed, whilst raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, will become an Alder Hey Mountain Series Champion. There is no time limit, and no set order to complete it in.
Presenting an opportunity to both overcome an incredible challenge and raise money for the 330,000 children that we treat at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital every year, The Mountain Series is ideal for fundraisers who want to push themselves to the limit whilst making a genuine, meaningful impact to our brave young patients.

Our Inspiration
Our brave young patients are constantly climbing mountains and overcoming adversity, and we couldn’t be more proud of them. They’re the reason we do what we do. Please read some of their stories below.
Theo
Frankie
Rosie
Lincoln

Theo
When Theo was born, he was diagnosed with sepsis and moved to intensive care, where he was found to have two inguinal hernias and was transferred to Alder Hey for a specialist procedure. His second operation was successful, and Theo soon made a full recovery and was able to go back home just one day later.

Frankie
Prior to his birth, Frankie had been diagnosed with gastroschisis, which meant he would be born with his bowels on the outside of his stomach and would need surgery to fix this. Despite a difficult experience, the following day Frankie was reunited with his mum. He now continues to recover and is exceeding expectations.

Rosie
Rosie was just under 3 months old, when she had her heart surgery. Since then, her heart scans have all been great and these days she is a happy little ball of energy who loves to listen and dance along to music, shout at anyone and everyone, and give the biggest smiles to family and strangers alike!

Lincoln
4-year-old Lincoln was born with a Congenital Heart Defect and has been under our care since day one. Since then, he has already undergone two open-heart surgeries at Alder Hey, but his infectious optimism and positivity is apparent to everyone at the hospital who has the good fortune of meeting him!
