Biography
Passionate about children’s health and their futures, Nicola Carragher’s support for Alder Hey dates back decades. Alongside her husband, fellow Charity Champion and former Liverpool FC vice captain Jamie Carragher, the pair have shown incredible support to our brave young patients and their families.
To raise vital funds for Alder Hey, Nicola set herself an ambitious challenge: to run all 7 world major marathons consecutively within 12 months. And she’s done it!
Nicola completed her remarkable journey by crossing the finish line of the Sydney Marathon in August 2025, marking the final chapter of an inspiring year of endurance, determination and heart. Along the way, she’s grown a passionate running community, sharing her journey on social media and appearing on podcasts, including Paula Radcliffe’s Paula’s Marathon Run Club and The Overlap.
We are so proud of Nicola’s phenomenal achievement. The funds she’s raised throughout her challenge will make a lasting difference for the children and families we care for here at Alder Hey.
