This Christmas, give the gift of cinema of to a child at Alder Hey by helping to fund our brand new, state-of-the-art MediCinema, located in the heart of our hospital atrium.
For many of us, Christmas is a time to cosy up and snuggle down, watching a movie full of holiday cheer. This is something that many of our long-term patients are unable to experience due to their complex health issues. Our MediCinema will allow them to experience the latest blockbuster releases along with their siblings and friends, all from the safety of our hospital. The cinema will be equipped with space for wheelchair access, beds and medical equipment, as well as being adorned with eye-catching rainbow-coloured theatre seats. There’s even a magical entrance decorated with movie props, rainbow floors and themed décor, creating a truly immersive red-carpet experience for all our young patients.

This Christmas, we’re asking you to donate £7 to go towards the running cost of our cinema, including funding for specialist nurses to be present during the screenings. Buy a cinema ticket and give our patients the gift of the movies!
