We never want a child to go home without the care they need. But at Alder Hey’s dental clinic, 70% of patients have additional needs and many children are too upset and anxious to treat.
Together, we can change that. We want to kit out our dental ward with distraction equipment that’ll let children play, imagine and have fun so they are relaxed enough for treatment – can you give £12 to help us do that?
Your gift will help turn the clinical, white walls of our waiting area into a woodland-themed sensory circuit. The interactive trail will help worried parents keep their littles ones distracted when they wait for their name to be called.
You’ll also help to buy state-of-the-art VR headsets and ceiling projectors for treatment rooms. When the child walks in, they’ll be transported to imaginary worlds like outer space or under the sea and be soothed enough for our clinicians to treat.
144 children and their families come to Alder Hey for dental treatment every week. Your gift will contribute to making visits easier and less worrying for each and every one of them.
