Alder Hey Children’s Charity Proud to Partner with the Inaugural The Guide Liverpool Heroes Awards

Last month, Alder Hey Children’s Charity was honoured to be the official charity partner of the first-ever The Guide Liverpool Heroes Awards, held at the stunning Titanic Hotel. The evening shone a spotlight on the very best of our City Region and the remarkable people who live, work, and make a difference within it.
We were delighted to be amongst so many inspiring individuals, charities, businesses, and community programmes that help shape our city for the better. Our warmest congratulations go to every winner and nominee, especially members of our own Alder Hey Family.
One of our Young Fundraising Ambassadors, Henri Brammer, received a Child of Courage Award for his incredible bravery, spirit and fundraising. Charity Champion Nicola Carragher was shortlisted for the Fundraising Hero Award for her phenomenal challenge of completing seven major marathons. And our wonderful supporter Olly Harrison, whose annual Christmas tractor convoys have raised more than £250,000 for Alder Hey, was named this year’s Fundraising Hero.
Hosted by Gemma Cutting and The Guide Liverpool founder and Alder Hey Charity Champion, Jay Hynd, the event also raised vital funds for the Alder Hey MediCinema. Over the past year alone, MediCinema has delivered more than 200 screenings and 450 hours of uplifting experiences to over 4000 children and young people, giving children precious time with loved ones and the chance to escape the hospital environment, even if just for a little while.
Thanks to the generosity of The Guide Liverpool and everyone who attended the Heroes Awards, we are thrilled to share that the event raised £12,500 for our MediCinema appeal. These funds will help cover essential running costs, including the specialist Alder Hey nursing staff who accompany young patients during screenings, ensuring every child is safe, supported, and able to fully enjoy the magic of the movies.
Jay Hynd, Founder of The Guide Liverpool and Alder Hey Charity Champion, said: “Being part of the very first Heroes Awards and supporting Alder Hey as our chosen charity was an absolute honour. The stories we celebrated on the night were truly inspiring. Seeing the community come together to recognise such courage, kindness, and dedication reminds us why supporting this incredible hospital and charity matters so much. I’m proud that The Guide Liverpool is able to play a part in helping create more moments of magic for the children and families who need it most.”
Alder Hey Children’s Charity extends its heartfelt thanks to The Guide Liverpool team and to every guest, nominee, and supporter who made the Heroes Awards such a meaningful and uplifting celebration. Your generosity helps us continue making magic happen for the children, young people, and families who rely on Alder Hey.
