Theo
Theo has been a patient of Alder Hey from being 3 months old after he was born 10 weeks premature and needed surgery.
He has had many admissions and treatment over the last 12 years and is eternally grateful for the fantastic care he receives.
Theo has always from a very young age been involved with his family fundraising for Ormskirk Neonatal Unit as he spent 10 weeks on the unit and they saved his life so he wanted to give back.
As Theo has got older on one of his admissions to Alder Hey he asked could he start fundraising for the ward he was on again to be able to give back and help others.
From the age of 6 he has fundraised initially for Ward 3A and now for the Neonatal Appeal by doing Bonus Balls , Raffles, Sponsored Walk, Guess the Teddy’s Name, Oli Safari Walk, and most recently in May 2023 he completed a 24 hour Danceathon where he stayed awake and danced continually for 24 hours which was a huge achievement both medically and physically. He is currently thinking of his next fundraiser for Alder Hey. Recently, Theo’s fundraising has been recognised with a ‘Special Young Person of the Year’ Award at the Pride of Formby Awards as well as winning the ‘Sparkles Charitable’ Award at the 2024 Sparkle Awards.
