Jess' sister Georgie was cared for at Alder Hey from when she was a few hours old. Sadly, she passed away aged 5 days but Jess vowed to raise money for Georgie to take to the poorly kids in heaven and make her sister proud.
Jess’ sister Georgie was cared for at Alder Hey from when she was a few hours old. Sadly, she passed away aged 5 days but Jess vowed to raise money for Georgie to take to the poorly kids in heaven and make her sister proud. From that moment her passion for fundraising was born.
She was made a young ambassador for the charity in 2015 and has raised funds in lots of fun ways, from annual bike rides, kids discos, party nights, a Zumbathon, Christmas hamper raffles and sweepstakes. Perhaps the most challenging fundraising event of all, a penny mile, ended up being almost a mile and a half!
Iris now joins Jess in her fundraising and she shares Jess’ love of Alder Hey and our Alder Hey family. She will be taking over the bike ride next year as Jess will be in the middle of her GCSE’S and won’t have the time to train.
