Frances
Frances has been a patient at Alder Hey since November 2019, when she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She had chemotherapy for two years and was cared for and still is by many different teams within the hospital. She would often attend her appointments dressed as a nurse / Dr and loved to help the nurses, especially Pip the Play Specialist.
Frances decided she wanted to raise money for Alder Hey and in 2021 along with her little sister Nell and family she climbed Conwy mountain and raised £4000. She has also recently completed another swimming fundraiser where she raised over £800.
Despite facing some tough times during her treatment Frances has always enjoyed visiting Alder Hey and is super proud of her Ambassador title.
Frances said: “I love how friendly all of the nurses and doctors are. I think Alder Hey looks really nice and is not like a normal hospital. There are lots of nice pictures and decorations which make me feel happy.”
