Sam May

Hello! I’m Sam, one of the Marketing Officers at Alder Hey Children’s Charity. As a Marketing Officer I work closely with the fundraising teams on all sorts, from events to corporate partnerships, and patients stories to big appeals. I work closely with families and patients within my role, which I love – their stories and journeys inspire me every day. In my life outside of Alder Hey I love running and playing sport, going to the cinema and plenty of gigs. My favourite childhood memory is playing football on the pitch at Pride Park, the home of my beloved Derby County, on the first day of the 2000/01 season. I even got a photo with Mart Poom, my favourite ever Derby County player! The Alder Hey value that resonates most with me is Magic, because every single day I am lucky enough to meet people – clincians, hospital staff, donors, patients, families – who are truly magical.
