Luke Chapman was born with a very complex set of heart defects and has faced a lifetime of serious open heart surgeries at Alder Hey.
Luke has been in and out of hospital since he was a baby and is a familiar face on Alder Hey’s K2 ward with his mum Kelly and the rest of his family. There have been so many times Luke has been critically ill but the team have always managed to get him home to his family.
With the support of their local community, Luke’s family have already raised thousands of pounds for the hospital. Some of the money they have raised has been used to improve the facilities for parents on the hospital’s cardiac ward while some has been invested in vital research to improve the care and treatment for other children like Luke.
Luke is a young ambassador for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and has represented Alder Hey at a number of prestigious events, including most recently at the new Alder Hey in the Park's ‘Topping Out’ Ceremony.
