When she was just eight days old, Grace Lee was diagnosed with a serious and incurable form of congenital heart disease.
She was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Alder Hey where she had to have emergency open heart surgery. Since then Grace, now nine years old, together with her family have travelled many times from their home in the Isle of Man to have treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Stays have sometimes lasted months and Grace has had countless operations including two further heart surgeries. She continues to visit Alder Hey regularly from her home in Isle of Man.
Grace's is a Young Ambassador for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and she is passionate about singing. She was recently a special guest on ITV's Surprise Surprise, where she performed with the cast of Matilda the Musical:
But that's not all! In 2014 she led a flash-mob performance in Liverpool One shopping centre with staff from Shop Direct, performing the Bill Withers classic ‘Lean on Me’.
