Paying in your fundraising money to Alder Hey Children’s Charity is really simple. Fundraisers have the option to print off a form and fill in their details manually, or make their donation online via our donations page, so it’s totally up to you how you want to hand over your funds. Remember, we appreciate every single donation made from a fundraising activity, no matter how big or small, and we’d like to thank you for your fundraising efforts!

If you are looking to make a donation online, then the process couldn’t be easier. Simply use the ‘donate’ button in the top right of our homepage. Here, you will be taken to the donations page. As well as making regular and one-off donations, here, you can also pay in your fundraising money. Simply select to make a ‘one-off’ donation and select from the options or enter the full amount that you have raised into the ‘other amount’ box below. Once done, please scroll down to the bottom of the page and input your reason for donating as ‘paying in funds from an event’. You will then be asked to input the name of your event or the name of your school/company/organisation as well as the nature of your event. You can select from the dropdown menu or simply say ‘other’ if your event doesn’t match any of the descriptions. Below this, you will be asked to give a few further details about your event, which might include when it took place, how many people were involved and what activity took place!

Paying in to our COVID-19 appeal

During the latest COVID-19 wave, our colleagues and patients still need your support. To encourage your donations during these unprecedented times, we have created a separate COVID-19 donations page. Our COVID-19 appeal accepts one-off donations, regular donations or money made from virtual fundraising events. There are instructions on the page about the different ways in which you can pay your donation. Please click here to visit our page, all about Alder Hey’s COVID-19 appeal.

Please note, if you are collecting money for charity or need to know how to set up a fundraiser page, it is important that you put controls in place to ensure that the money you raise goes towards meeting the aims of your chosen charity. Some ways to make sure that large amounts of donations are handled correctly can include ensuring that there is more than one person in charge of counting any receiving donations and that all cash you collect is received and banked as soon as possible by your chosen charity, with no expenses deducted. Raising money for charity and donating to a fantastic cause is extremely rewarding, but there must be rules put in place to ensure the process runs smoothly and legally.
