Staff Spotlight – Meet Hayley!
Staff Spotlight: Meet Hayley!
This week on Staff Spotlight we have been speaking to Hayley, Head of Corporate Fundraising here at Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
Describe Alder Hey Children’s Charity in 3 words.
Quirky, Togetherness, Hard-working.
You’re stranded on a desert island and can only bring three items, what are they?
My Kindle, definitely. An unlimited supply of Toblerone – I just can’t go without it. And finally my hair straighteners. I know no-one will see me but my hair has GOT to be straight!
Are you reading anything good at the moment?
I’m currently reading a book called Breathe, which is fascinating! Who knew that really focusing on breathing through your nose has so many health benefits and could be so life-changing!
What is the best thing about working at Alder Hey?
Every day is so different and you get to meet the most amazing people. I am constantly reminded of how much good there is in the world when we meet our fundraisers. For me this is usually through our corporate partners and the significant impact that their support can have. The start of a partnership is always really exciting, when we can talk through all of the different ideas they have and start to bring them to life.
If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?
To be able to travel anywhere in the world in just a few minutes. There are so many places I haven’t been and would love to see!
What fundraising events do you look forward to the most?
I really enjoy any running events – standing there cheering on our supporters who have worked really hard to train for marathons and half marathons is so much fun. The Santa Dash is also a particular favourite – seeing all those Santa costumes running through Liverpool is quite spectacular!
