Here at Alder Hey Children’s Charity, we’re constantly in awe of our remarkable, charitable supporters. People conquer their fears and spend their free time fundraising to take on challenges or organise events to raise money for Alder Hey.
It’s been an exciting couple of years since we launched our fundraising appeal to support Alder Hey in the Park and our supporters have raised over £20m for life-saving equipment, research and vital facilities. That’s a staggering amount!
But we still have a way to go. With Alder Hey in the Park now open, we want to raise funds to make it a truly world-class, patient friendly hospital for young people and families and this Friday, a group of 15 challengers will fly to India to start a five-day trek in the Himalayas.
Since signing up, the dedicated group have held their own events and spent hours of their time raising sponsorship money and the challenge will raise over £45,000 in total.
Setting off from Manchester, the group will take a flight to Delhi ahead of their 67km hike in the foothills of the world’s highest mountain range. Stunning scenery along the route will provide inspiration on the gruelling trek but the hard work will end on a spectacular high when the group visits the Taj Mahal before returning home.
Although it’s too late to join the group in India, we’ve got an equally exciting opportunity for you to get involved in next year to the USA!
We’re encouraging all you budding adventurers out there to get involved in our exhilarating Grand Canyon Trek. This once-in-a-lifetime experience takes the group on a five-day ancient Indian trail exploration amongst other amazing adventures.
Although millions of people visit the Grand Canyon every year, only 3% visit the canyon itself so you’ll be part of an exclusive group to trek an ancient trail and see red rocks, lagoons and stunning waterfalls.
The Grand Canyon Trek isn’t until October 2016 so, there’s plenty of time for you to get into the trekking mind set and raise your sponsorship money.
If you’re interested but need a little more information, please read our Grand Canyon Trek page or get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
