Paul and Keli smash their 3 Peaks Challenge!

Alder Hey Children's Charity is delighted to be partnered with EG Group, to raise vital funds for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Our ambassador, Theo, has been the poster star of their appeal across their nationwide sites.

Two members of staff from EG Group, Keli and Paul, took on an incredible Three Peaks Challenge to support their company’s fundraising efforts, and they have smashed their Just Giving target! Paul and Keli were inspired by Theo’s story.

Updating us on their progress throughout the challenge, Paul commented:

"We started at around 5.45am and took on Pen-y-Ghent. It started to rain about half way up and then the wind. It only took us 90 minutes to get to the top where the weather was just horrible. And it was still pitch black! We had a quick 5, but the wind was so cold we just cracked on."

Here’s a selection of the fantastic photos they shared with us.

Paul continued:

"It is a pretty long trek between there and Whernside. Thankfully fairly ‘level’ with a couple of ups and downs. The visibility on the ascent and the top was pretty much zero. We walked passed the trig point and gave it a little touch and kept going. Once at the top we had a big hug and cracked on. We knew we were nearing the end. A cold, windy and wet last few miles was more positive as we had nearly done it! Without each other there was no way we could have done it. We are a great team and we smashed it!

Paul signed off his update:

"A massive thank you for all the positivity and support shown by people throughout our ‘adventure', it was truly appreciated".

Thank you to all the staff and customers of EG Group for their amazing support of Alder Hey Children's Charity. If you visit any of their retail and hospitality outlets, keep a look out for our collection boxes and our lovely Theo on the partnership posters.
