The Liverpool Rock N’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon takes place for the second time on Sunday 14 June, taking in our iconic city skyline and historic sites from music history, with bands playing all the way around the course.
As the only UK stop on the worldwide Rock N’ Roll Series juggernaut, all eyes will once again be on Liverpool, as long distance runners from around the world pit themselves against their personal bests, and all in the name of many good causes.
Perhaps one of the best things about running is that the sport is so inclusive. You don’t have to be a professional, nor do you have to set out to win. Participation is everything, and your only rival is your previous run time.
And for the Rock N’ Roll events, crazy outfits, big wigs and sparkly glasses are practically encouraged so it’s fine to swap a good time for a bit of rock n’ roll running style!
Events like this are not only great for the city, they are brilliant for charities like ours. We are always humbled when remarkable people choose to take on huge personal challenges to raise money for Alder Hey, and it’s always great to see friends, family and colleagues rally round with support.
If you’ve entered the event and would like to run for Alder Hey, please let us know and we’ll send you one of our special running vests to wear and a fundraising pack so that you can make a difference to the lives of our young patients with every step you take.
Don’t forget to let us know how you did once you cross the finish line, good luck and thank you!
