The Alder Centre Light Up A Life Charity Single

As part of its ongoing support for the Alder Centre, the Music Department team at Formby High School have spearheaded a charity single project, hoping to bring together community choir voices from across Merseyside to record remotely but come together online. The song will receive its premiere at the Alder Centre Candle Service on Thursday 9 December, livestreamed from Liverpool Cathedral.

This project follows on from an initial collaborative project in 2020, where the school gathered over 100 voices from across Merseyside and the wider North West for a recording of Julia Fordham's 1990s hit  'Hope, Prayer and Time'

This year the project is excited to share the a very special, original song 'Light Of My Life' composed by Steve Cook, Beth Dilworth, Gary Heatherington and members of G:Force Gospel Choir through Formby High School. The track can be found on iTunes, Spotify and other streaming services from next week to download to raise funds for The Alder Centre.

Fiona Berry, Service Manager at The Alder Centre said ‘With beautiful and meaningful lyrics, and a moving composition, it is hoped the song will bring some peace and comfort to anyone grieving the loss of a child, especially at this time of year. We are so grateful to Steve Cook and all members of the choir. The song really reflects what The Alder Centre is about.’

Please remember to help raise funds for The Alder Centre, the song needs to be downloaded via iTunes or Spotify.
