#ConistonChallenge2018 DONE, get ready for 2019

29 teams beat the Old Man of Coniston despite the heat!

29 teams took on the Coniston Challenge on Saturday 7th July for Alder Hey Children’s Charity despite soaring temperatures in the Lake District.

The annual event is a triathlon with a twist - you don't need to be an athlete -  it’s created as a challenge for teams of varying abilities so there is no pressure to be the best – though there is a results table!  Everyone can take their time and enjoy conquering Coniston as a team of friends, colleagues or family, whilst raising vital funds for Alder Hey. The challenge comprised of;

  • 10km trek up the Old Man of Coniston
  • 17km bike ride through the Grizedale Forest
  • 3km kayak across Coniston Water

Helen Hughes, organiser of the Coniston Challenge  at Alder Hey Children's Charity said  "It was another fantastic day with great team spirit and unusually glorious Lakeland sunshine! Many thanks to all the teams who took part, helping to make Coniston Challenge 2018 another memorable occasion. And remember it's about taking part not winning!"
