Edie was in a wheelchair and full spica twice for roughly 8 weeks – once at the age of 2 and again age 7/8. She decided to cut off her hair to support us, raising over £2000! Edie and her family continue to fundraise for Alder Hey Children’s Charity by holding charity events and giving via monthly contributions.
What do you love about Alder Hey?
It felt like home during our long stay there and all the staff were so considerate and caring. It’s lovely that you’re able to leave the ward and when you go into the lobby. It feels like you are somewhere completely different. When you’ve been sat by a hospital bed for a long time, that is such an amazing feeling! We can never thank Alder Hey enough.
